This tragedy occurred during a soccer practice session last Wednesday, November 8, in a field in the town where Ernesto was playing alongside other athletes.

The event unfolded at Los Campos Gemelos in the Hoja de Maíz neighborhood of Tierra Blanca. Ernesto was involved in a collision with a teammate, which tragically left him lying on the grass for several minutes. Despite the best efforts of those present, Ernesto could not be revived. Emergency services were called, and paramedics from Civil Protection arrived quickly, but their attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.
