In a heart-wrenching incident in Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, the local community is reeling from the sudden death of a young soccer player, Ernesto Ricardo, aged 13. This tragedy occurred during a soccer practice session last Wednesday, November 8, in a field in the town where Ernesto was playing alongside other athletes.
The Tragic Incident
The event unfolded at Los Campos Gemelos in the Hoja de Maíz neighborhood of Tierra Blanca. Ernesto was involved in a collision with a teammate, which tragically left him lying on the grass for several minutes. The circumstances leading to his death are still unclear, but some witnesses at the scene suggested that Ernesto may have suffered a heart attack following the collision.
Despite the best efforts of those present, Ernesto could not be revived. Emergency services were called, and paramedics from Civil Protection arrived quickly, but their attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful. It’s reported that they spent around 20 minutes trying to save the young athlete’s life.
