2021 recap: list of current world boxing champions



After the 2020 hiatus due to the global pandemic, in 2021 international boxing returned with strength and left great battles and new world champions that amazed fans of the sport of fists.

Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez He had another perfect year again and ended up being the undisputed champion by beating Caleb Plant. He is now a super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Organization, International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Association (super), World Boxing Council, and The Ring.

Oleksandr Usyk He hit the big blow against Anthony Joshua and is the World Boxing Association (super) (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) heavyweight champion.

For many, the best fight of the year was the last of the Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder. There were blows until the Gipsy King put the American to sleep to end the year with the belts of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and The Ring.

George Kambosos Jr. struck out at Teofimo López and won the belts of the WBO, IBF, WBA and Lightweight World Boxing Council (WBC) “franchise” champion.
