Although it is attributed to Valencia, Spain, horchata has a Mediterranean origin. The gastronomic dictionary Larousse points out that the name is due to an occasion in which a young peasant woman offered King Jaime I of Aragon a glass of horchata. 1. Rice horchata

Tiger nut horchata is a popular Valencian drink that you can prepare in a very simple way and for which you will not need many ingredients: tiger nuts, water and sugar.

6. Horchata oatmeal

To make horchata de avena you only need: 2 1/2 cups of oatmeal, 2 liters of water, 1 tablespoon of vanilla, sugar and cinnamon powder to taste.

Preparation: Soak the oats for 20 minutes and rinse. Blend with the rest of the ingredients, strain and serve with ice.
