For the third year in a row Robert Lewandowski ends the year as the top scorer in the European leagues and in 2021 he crowned a record schedule by nailing 69 goals with Bayern Munich, equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s best mark.
The German champions beat Wolsfburg 4-0 and the 33-year-old Pole contributed the last goal of the match at minute 87 ‘. With that target came the aforementioned amount of 69 goals this year, in Bayern’s last duel before the bells ring to dismiss 2021.
Lewandowski scored 48 goals in 2019, 45 in 2020 and 69 in 2021. Numbers that enlarge to 324 his goals at Bayern after playing 354 games. In addition, with 43 shouts this year he surpassed Gerd Müller with the highest-scoring season on the calendar year in the Bundesliga.
Those 69 goals are still far from the 91 that Lionel Messi scored in 2012, a world record. There were 79 goals with FC Barcelona and 12 with the Argentine National Team.
