1. Marinate the chicken in yogurt

For super creamy mashed potatoes, opt to boil the potatoes in salted milk instead of water. Once the potatoes are cooked, drain and add the softened butter, advises Insider Sara Hauman, chef at Soter Vineyards in Carlton, Oregon.

3. Let the rice rest for at least 10 minutes

Martha Stewart teaches you how to prepare a perfect brown rice easy and in no time. As a safe step after cooking the rice, Stewart suggests letting the cooked rice rest for 10 minutes. It must be covered to absorb moisture; then remove the cap and fluff the rice grains with a fork.

Seasoning from the top is especially convenient in those dishes that you will cook in a stationary way, that is, without stirring. Not stirring to spread the seasonings reduces the risk of damaging delicate meats and vegetables.

7. Improve the sauce for pasta

Save some of the water in the cooked pasta to add to your sauce. Hauman notes that adding starchy water will help emulsify the sauce, especially if it is based on olive oil.

8. Add salt and acid

Salt is a staple for seasoning. Serious Eats notes that balancing acid is just as important as maintaining proper salt levels when it comes to making things delicious. Suggest to add a splash of lemon juice on your vegetables, a pinch of vinegar to your soup or heavy stew. Other acids you can use are red wine vinegar, sherry vinegar, and rice wine vinegar.
