A man was found fatally wounded last night on a Brooklyn street with a knife stuck in his chest in what could be a suicide, police announced today.
The 38-year-old victim was found bleeding with a knife stuck in his chest near 5th Avenue and 60th Street in the Sunset Park neighborhood around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday. Based on the angle of the knife, detectives suspect the wound was self-inflicted, NYPD said.
Medics took the victim to nearby NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn but could not save him. His name was not immediately released, pending family notification.
The city medical examiner’s office is conducting an autopsy to determine whether the man committed suicide or was the victim of a homicide, the Daily News said.
