Amazon gives the green light for its vaccinated employees not to wear face masks

Amazon announced that it is relaxing its rules for the use of mask masks for its employees who operate its offices in the United States. Therefore, the company said that it will allow those who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to work in its warehouses without facial protection.

The leader in online shopping, it has about 1,000,000 employees across the United States. Prior to the decision announced this day, Amazon had allowed vaccinated employees to remove their skin mask in the spring, but he changed his position in August when the Delta variant, a highly transmissible strain, was spread.

Amazon informed employees that they could stop wearing their masks as long as they are fully vaccinated. The implementation of This rule began to be valid as of this November 2.

The company added that this may change unless federal, state or local laws indicate otherwise, as long as neither of these possibilities occurs, the workforce of the retail giant will be able to suppress the use of the protection.

“Vaccines are universally available in the United States and vaccination rates continue to rise, allowing us to return to our previous mask policy,” the company told workers in a message. The news was first reported by CNBC.

Despite the fact that Amazon is implementing this strategy, it asked its corporate employees that if they want to return to operate in the offices they must be fully vaccinated. In this sense, the company has not been flexible with its collaborators.

Amazon, the second-largest private employer in the United States, after national retail leader Walmart, but unlike the company founded by Jeff Bezos, the large supermarket chain has not mandated that workers be vaccinated.

Walmart has instructed that those who want to go without a mask must show proof of vaccination so as not to be forced to wear it throughout their workday. In contrast, employees of the retail firm operating out of corporate offices must be fully immunized.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 69.6% of the adult population in the United States is fully vaccinated against Covid-19. This percentage is gradually increasing every time vaccination has not stopped throughout the national territory.
