In recent weeks there have been various incidents on commercial flights and airports, yesterday it was announced that a child under 13 years of age duct tape had to be tied to his seat on an American Airlines flight, according to a video broadcast by CBS in Los Angeles.
In the television report they highlighted that the witnesses reported that the minor had behaved aggressive towards his mother approximately one hour after the flight had left Maui bound for Los Angeles.
Those who witnessed what happened said that the 13-year-old also tried to kick one of the plane’s windows, a situation that put the entire crew in serious danger. It was then that action was taken against the boy.
In the video, which was broadcast by the television network, a member of the airline staff can be seen threatening the child with duct tape while two or three passengers appeared to hold him to control him. After checking the passenger, it was said that no one was injured.
According to the information released, the flight took off from the Hawaiian island of Maui on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. and was scheduled to land in Los Angeles five hours later. Instead, he diverted to Hawaii’s capital Honolulu.

This would not be the first time that airline personnel have used duct tape to prevent misplaced behavior on the part of passengers.Staff taped a passenger to his seat on a Frontier Airlines flight to Miami in July.
The man, who was caught on video punching a flight attendant and shouting obscenities, was also accused of inappropriately touching the crew members and removing his shirt.
Also in July, a TikTok video showed a woman taped to her seat on an American Airlines flight. The airline said it had tried to get out of the plane during the flight and attacked the flight attendants.
