The young Mexican actress Andrea Chaparro, one of the main characters in the new version of Rebelde, confessed that the actor Sergio Mayer Mori, who plays Esteban in the series, gave her the worst kiss of her entire acting career. However, the feud between the two sons of celebrities could go beyond a bad kiss.
During an interview in Pinky Promise, the YouTube channel of the JNS member, Karla Díaz, Omar Chaparro’s daughter, said that she lived a very uncomfortable moment on screen with the son of former congressman Sergio Mayer and actress Bárbara Mori due to the bad communication between them.
In the program, Andrea read some questions from the audience. Among them, one questioned her about how was her worst kiss acting and with whom. To which she answered:
“My worst kissing experience in Rebelde (…) with Sergio Mayer Mori, there is a part where the kiss itself is supposed to be awkward, it’s very uncomfortable, but I think I understood one thing, he understood another thing, and I don’t know, a lack of communication and it was just uncomfortable,” narrated the young woman who previously participated in the acclaimed Netflix series, La casa de las Flores.
However, due to the requirements of the script, where a somewhat unpleasant scene was described, what she felt was useful for the series: “That shot was the most uncomfortable because it was…but it was funny, it was good,” she concluded.
On the other hand, neither Andrea nor Azul Guaita, who also acts in the series, confessed if there was any kind of confrontation or misunderstanding between the actors that make up the series cast. They even said that they are united as a big family.
However, in May 2021, a very different scenario was reported, as it was said that Sergio Mayer Mori allegedly had problems with his co-workers, especially with the daughter of the No Manches Frida actor.
During an edition of TvNotas magazine, it was reported that the actor was “arrogant, he thinks he is more than his co-workers, and says that the series will only be successful because of him, he also presumes that he is the only celebrity in the cast”, according to what a source close to the production told the magazine at the time.

In addition to this attitude, Mayer Mori allegedly arrived late to the calls and, due to this, had some friction with Andrea Chaparro. According to the magazine, the young woman confronted the person who played Esteban in the series and demanded that he stop “playing with other people’s time” and asked him to commit to the project or leave it.
According to the magazine, it was not only his co-stars and the production that suffered from his mood swings, as there were also complaints from the team of make-up artists, costume designers, and assistants.
Days after the publication revealed that Mori was allegedly at risk of leaving the project due to an alleged ultimatum by the production of the series, his father clarified that it was all a rumor and argued that his son was attacked for standing out in the acting world.
During an interview with Sale el Sol, Sergio Mayer pointed out that his firstborn was responsible for his work in the Netflix production and added that he instilled in his children the “value of work” from an early age: “If I have taught my children anything, it is to be grateful and value when someone gives you work and recognizes you,” he said.
However, shortly after, Sergio went viral when he confessed that he “hates RBD,” a fact that earned him many detractors among soap opera fans. This is what he said in a live on his Instagram account in 2021:
“I’m going to tell you something, yes I’m doing the project, yes I’m in RBD, yes I have to sing them because I have to sing them by contract, but I hate RBD. That’s the reality. I don’t like the songs. I never saw the ‘coso’ this”.
