The Oaxaca prosecutor announced that he was in serious condition.
The prosecutor of Oaxaca, Bernardo Rodríguez Alamilla, assured that one of the three Argentinean citizens attacked with machetes on the beaches of Lagunas de Chacahua is seriously ill due to head injuries.
According to the state justice official, the 23-year-old young man, identified as Benjamín Garamond, was transferred to a hospital in Mexico City two days after the attack.
“The person who attacked them is in custody and we are going to submit him to the judge so that he can carry out the corresponding evaluation in terms of what proceeds. There were three people, two of them with minor injuries, there is a third one who worries us and who is in a delicate condition”, he said.
Last weekend, a subject who was identified as Cruz Irving from Ometepec Guerrero attacked with machetes Benjamin Garamond, Santiago Lastra, and Macarena Gonzalez, all friends, while they were enjoying the paradisiacal beaches of Lagunas de Chacahua.
“The person is in custody and there are several lines of investigation that we are following so that the judge will sentence him to trial,” said the prosecutor.
However, some versions indicate that the tourist could have died due to the seriousness of his head injuries, but authorities have not confirmed his death.
