Although Ayana is currently quite content and focused on her professional endeavors, she disclosed a few months ago that she experienced a severe episode of depression.
“2020-2021 was difficult, I believe, for everyone!!! I had never before experienced such severe depression. I literally felt cut off from the world. I felt out of place. There was no more color in my world. Everyone thought I was fine. I was obviously pretending with a smile. I really was not fine. When I look back at that photo, I remember how I truly felt. I realized that the strong fall to their knees at some point in their lives. This was a time in my life when I fell. I think the difficult part was accepting that I was indeed going through depression. I am so happy and blessed to have overcome it. I have learned to cry when I need to and not bottle up these emotions inside me,” she said.
