Bensonhurst break-in turns deadly as father is stabbed to death and daughters injured

Two burglars broke into the family's home on 17th Avenue near 82nd Street in the Bensonhurst neighborhood around 6 a.m. today, demanding money from a suspected safe, according to the NYPD

A 61-year-old man was killed, and his two daughters were injured when stabbed during an alleged robbery at their Brooklyn (NYC) home early this morning.

Two burglars broke into the family’s home on 17th Avenue near 82nd Street in the Bensonhurst neighborhood around 6 a.m. today, demanding money from a suspected safe, according to the NYPD.

One of the invaders stabbed the father several times and killed him. His 19- and 22-year-old daughters were also stabbed during the break-in. The names of the victims were not immediately released.

The younger daughter was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center, where she was in critical condition. Her older sister was taken to NYU Langone Hospital in stable condition.

Cops said there was no safe in the house and the burglars fled. It was unclear why the family was targeted, the New York Post reported.
