Undoubtedly, hamburgers are a benchmark of American culinary culture, for decades various restaurant chains have emerged that have this delicious dish as the center of their menu. Probably, there are different styles and ways of making a hamburger that have affected consumers having preferences for certain restaurants, but in the end a question arises, which is the best hamburger chain?
Answering this question, in short, is not easy, because there are large restaurant chains that have been positioned for decades, the best example of this are McDonald’s, Burger King or Wendy’s. The truth is that at present there are various chains that have little to do with the aforementioned, due to their menu, but at the end of the day they are competitors because they are from the same niche.
A few days ago, Mashed surveyed hundreds of consumers to determine which is the best hamburger chain in the entire United States. Many of those surveyed said that the best are old-school firms, such as McDonald’s and Burger King, but This does not mean that one of these two was the winner.
According to the 603 respondents, the best hamburger chain is Five Guys, which obtained 27.86% of the votes. In second place was In-N-Out, which obtained 21.72% of the votes, followed closely by Red Robin, with 18.74% of the votes. Those consulted relegated the old burger chains that have dominated the market for decades.
According to Mashed, the top three positions captured more than two-thirds of all votes. The other votes were distributed evenly. Among the chains mentioned were Steak ‘n Shake, which obtained 12.77% of the votes, Whataburger, 10.28%, and Shake Shack, with 8.62%. For those who carried out the study, they thought that these three companies are a surprise.
The reason for this, because the universe of hamburger chains in the United States is extremely wide and, therefore, competition is extremely high. It was expected that other large chains such as Carl’s Jr., which has a deep roots among fans of this food, would be positioned, but was not among the most mentioned chains.
The study does not specify the criteria that led consumers to choose the most mentioned chains and their roots, neither does it mention aspects related to the menu and flavors, but the reality is that the old school chains did not fare well. against those that have a shorter operating time throughout the United States.
