Billie Eilish was the first artist to honor the drummer Taylor Hawkins’ memory, the member of the rock band Foo Fighters, during the gala this Sunday of the Grammy Awards 2022.

The singer-songwriter performed two of her most current songs, including “Everything I Wanted”, while wearing a black t-shirt with a photograph of Hawkins, who died last Friday, March 25 in Colombia, at the age of 50.

The brief tribute from Eilish, who kissed her shirt at the end of her act, excited the attendees of the event and the three awards with which his band swept the ceremony were added, as Foo Fighters took Best Rock Performance (“Making a Fire”), best rock song (“Waiting on a War”) and Best Rock Album (Medicine at Midnight).

Host Jimmy Jam accepted all three awards on behalf of the group, who recently decided to cancel their tour and Grammy performance to mourn.

Prior to Eilish’s presentation, other artists did their thing from the stage, such as BTS, which in turn paid tribute to spy films with new choreographies to the rhythm of “Butter”.

Later, Lil Nas X did a light and dance display, which included a huge sculpture of his face, while singing “Dead Right Now”; While, Brandy Carlile sang “Right on Time” on piano and rapper NAS dressed in gray next to a small orchestra.

And without forgetting the awards, the two awards that were given during the second block of the Grammy included Best Country Album, for Starting Over, by Chris Stapleton, and one of the main ones of the night, Best New Artist, that went into the hands of Olivia Rodrigo.

This is a dream come true for me, said the young woman, excited, after holding the gramophone, which was given to her by Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion.
