The man whose decomposed body was found under a sofa in a Queens apartment this week was stabbed to death, as updated by the police on the case, citing the forensic report.

NYPD officers discovered the body of the unidentified victim Wednesday around 1 p.m. when responded to an odor report inside an apartment on Jamaica Avenue near 77th Street in the woodhaven neighborhoodauthorities said.

The city medical examiner’s office determined the man was the victim of a homicide and suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck and back, authorities detailed Thursday night.

Police believe the man had been dead for weeks due to the condition of the corpse. Apparently he was last seen two weeks before the scary find.

“The body was so decomposed that they don’t know who it is,” a police source told the New York Post. No arrests have been made at this time and the circumstances leading to the stabbing remain under investigation. In addition to identifying the victim by name and age, it remains to be determined when exactly she was killed.
