BTS definitively cancels their “Map Of The Soul” world tour due to the increase in COVID-19 cases

The popular K-pop band confirmed that their long-awaited world tour is canceled until further notice.

After much speculation, the K-pop group Bts confirmed the definitive cancellation of his world tour “Map Of The Soul”, which had been postponed since 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The news was released this Friday by the group’s agency (Big Hit Music), through the platform Weverse, and within the statement The exponential increase in cases due to Covid-19 was listed as the cause of the cancellation that have arisen around the world.

“The company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS Map Of The Soul Tour, realizing that all fans have been looking forward to the tour. Nevertheless, due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances on the same scale and timeline as previously planned. Therefore, We must announce the cancellation of the Map Of The Soul Tour“The statement reads.

In addition to sharing the sad news, Big Hit Music took advantage of the space to apologize to the ARMY for the two times the world tour was postponed:

“Let us offer our sincerest apologies to all the fans who have waited for the BTS MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR to resume. We are working to prepare a viable program and performance format that can meet your expectations., and we will provide updated notices as soon as possible ”, they concluded.

The announcement fell like a bucket of cold water to the fandom, which turned to different platforms to share their sadness at the definitive cancellation of the tour. However, for others it did not come as a surprise, as we remember that the tour was scheduled for January 2020 and I would visit at least 38 places on 3 continents: Asia, Europe and America.

Although the company promised a new format that ensures the safety of the public and the group, no tentative dates for BTS’s return to the stage were shared.
