Ex-husband's fatal attack leaves Kimberly Hoffman dead in New Jersey, sparking a significant fundraising effort for her surviving children.

In a tragic incident, 49-year-old Kimberly Hoffman was killed by her ex-husband Carl Schulz Jr., 52, who subsequently took his own life. The event occurred in New Jersey, with Hoffman and Schulz’s dog also falling victim to the violence.

The fatal incident took place in Little Egg Harbor Village, where police discovered Hoffman’s body with a gunshot wound to the face. According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer, officers responded to a distress call made by Hoffman herself around 5:10 a.m. on Saturday. She reported a break-in at her residence, after which her apartment door was forced open. Schulz and the couple’s dog were also found at the scene, bearing gunshot wounds.

Schulz, who had apparently murdered his ex-wife and their dog, was still alive when the police arrived. He had inflicted a fatal gunshot wound on his own head. Despite being rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, he succumbed to his injuries, as reported by station NJ101.5 FM.

Hoffman held the position of Director of Admissions at the Seacrest Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center nursing home in Little Egg Harbor, as per her social media profiles.

A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated for Hoffman’s two children. As of noon today, it has raised over $54,000. The funds will be utilized to cover the children’s living expenses, encompassing education, counseling, and medical bills, as stated by the fundraising platform.
