Carlos Marín, vocalist of Il Divo, dies of COVID-19

Il Divo’s singer, Carlos Marín, passed away this Sunday December 19, at age 53, with COVID-19.

According to the Daily Mail portal, the star remained in a medically induced coma at Manchester Royal hospital. However, his life support machine was shut down.

“It is with great regret that we let you know that our friend and partner Carlos Marín has passed away. Your friends, family, and fans will miss you. There will never be another voice or spirit like Carlos ”.

For 17 years, the four of us have been together on this incredible Il Divo journey, and we will miss our dear friend. We hope and pray that your beautiful soul may rest in peace. With love – David, Sebastien and Urs ”, wrote the group through Twitter.

Carlos Marin stayed with Il Divo since its inception in 2003, and has sold more than 30 million copies of his albums worldwide.

The last time he was seen on stage was on December 6 in Bath, England; two days later he was hospitalized, canceling concerts in Hull and Nottingham.
