El Tri’s outstanding performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics he revalued Mexican soccer players. Mexico‘s third place put various clubs on the radar that were interested in the Aztecs. An example of this was the signing of Johan Vásquez de Pumas from UNAM to Genoa from Italy. In this sense, Chivas de Guadalajara would have received a great offer for Alexis Vega, but the team decided to reject it.

Reports indicate that the Porto, one of the largest clubs in Portugal, would have brought a formal offer to the “Sacred Herd”. The figure would be around € 8.4 million euros ($ 9.8 million dollars), by the complete player file. However, the Mexican team would be looking for a higher price, so they rejected the proposal.

According to information from Chivas Pasión, the club would let Alexis leave for € 10 million euros ($ 11.7 million). In this sense, the Portuguese team will have to present a new offer if they really want to acquire the services of the young Aztec player.

From Guadalajara they are smart. Porto has just received $ 18.7 million from the sale of Danilo to PSG and could receive an additional $ 12 million for the departure of Jesús “Tecatito” Corona to Sevilla of Spain. Under these circumstances, the Portuguese team has more than enough funds to face the economic demands of the “Sacred Herd”.

What the future holds for Alexis Vega is yet to be known. There are a few days left until the transfer market in Europe ends, so it is expected that the “Blue Dragons” will return with the indicated loot and in this way it will be added a new Mexican abroad.
