A new crocodile attack in the waters of the southern zone of Quintana Roo, Mexico, was reported last weekend; On this occasion, the incident occurred in the heavenly bacalar lagoon.

According to information provided by local media, the crocodile attack in Bacalar happened around 5:30 p.m. on March 27, when a family of national tourists from Mexico City swam in the lagoon.

The affected tourist reported that he felt a bite, although at first he thought it was just a cramp, however, seconds later he realized that the lizard had attacked him.

“We had already been in the water for an hour and we were adults and there were children too, my concern is that I had my son swimming too, when I felt the bite, it was a strange sensation, at that moment I did not perceive what was happening , but I felt it as a kind of cramp and pulls,” said the tourist from CDMX to Novedades Quintana Roo.

These pulls, he said, he felt in each leg but later he had no other sensation, until he immediately returned to shore when his family told him that he was bleeding from a very deep wound.

“So at that time my child was still there swimming, so the first thing I did was ask them to take him out, because something was there,” he added.

Fortunately, the attack by the approximately 5-foot-long crocodile did not have serious consequences, but it does highlight the fact that In the area of the Bacalar lagoon there are no signs or warnings of danger due to the sighting of these animals.whose attack could be deadly.
