Cruz Azul has an emergency plan: a former Chivas de Guadalajara would take control of “La Maquina”

The weather in Cruz Azul is not all that good. Sports hesitations have been an additional theme to all the complications of “The Machine”. The departure of Álvaro Dávila from the institution called into question the continuity of John Reynoso. The Peruvian would have put his resignation on the table. Although many have denied the information, The club would already have among its cards its possible replacement with a past in Chivas de Guadalajara: Matías Almeyda.

Changes in the club’s board would have weakened the team’s structure. Radical changes would be the order of the day and one of them would have to do with the dismissal of Reynoso. Faced with this change in cycle, there would already be a clear option for the future of the team and Almeyda would be the one, according to information from Azteca Deportes.

The Argentine coach has already been a wish for “La Maquina”. In fact, before the arrival of Reynoso, the main candidate was Matías Almeyda, but the South American strategist remained on US soil with the San José Earthquakes.

Matías Almeyda and a possible return to Liga MX

The young Argentine coach has not had an outstanding performance in MLS. Almeyda would not agree with certain handling of the American institution. In fact, some media point out that the South American would like to leave the club.

Matías Almeyda has a contract with San José Earthquakes until December 2022. Despite this, both teams could reach an agreement in case Cruz Azul wants to activate its emergency plan for the future of the institution.
