Disney + confirms the release date of ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ 29 years after the premiere of the original

“Hocus Pocus 2” also stars Sam Richardson (“The Tomorrow War”), Douglas Jones (“The Shape of Water”), Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”), Whitney Peak (“Gossip Girls”), Belissa Escobedo (“American Horror Stories”), lilia buckingham (“dirt”), Froyan Gutierrez (“Teen Wolf”) and Tony Halle (“veep”).

The film is directed by Anne Fletcher (“Dumplin”, “The Proposal”) and produced by lynn harris (“King Richard”, “The Shallows”), with Ralph Winter (“Hocus Pocus”, the “X-Men” franchise), David Kirschner (“Hocus Pocus”, “Chucky”) and adam shankman (“Disenchanted,” “Hairspray”) as executive producers.

“Hocus Pocus” is a funny comedy that was released in 1993 and directed by Kenny Ortega who later directed “High School Musical” for Disney Channel. The story revolves around the Sanderson sisters who, despite being villains, get into situations that are comical. In the original film, witches are inadvertently resurrected on Halloween.

When the film was released in theaters it was not a success but after reruns on television, the film gained fans until it became a cult classic.

At the time the film was originally released, Sarah Jessica Parker was not yet starring. “Sex and the City” that would take his stardom to another level.
