Disney could change the actors’ contract after Scarlett Johansson’s lawsuit.

Due to recent problems they had with Scarlett Johansson, Disney would have decided to shield itself in the future to prevent this type of situation from happening again and supposedly chose to change the contracts of its actors.
According to Deadline, Bob chapek, CEO of Disney, is currently studying a new contract model in which I know include clauses to operate in an unexpected situation, as is the closure of movie theaters due to a global pandemic.
“Disney has had a long history of very cooperative agreements with actors and we will continue to do so. The world is changing and contracts with actors in the future will have to reflect that the world is not the same (…) We will continue working to offer fair treatment to the artists who work with us ”, he commented during the ‘Communacopia Conference’, by Goldman Sachs.
In the same way, he pointed out that the previous contracts had been carried out under the normality that existed prior to the pandemic; so after the arrival of the virus, it had not been modified.
“We are at a time when films were conceived with an understanding of what the world would be like because, frankly, not much had changed. Remember those movies were made three or four years ago. Those deals were closed three or four years ago. Then they are launched in the middle of a global pandemic and that pandemic is accelerating a second dynamic, which is the changing behavior of the consumer ”, he declared.
Scarlett and Disney are currently in a legal battle to determine who will win the lawsuit.
The main problem between Disney and the actress is that the company was never interested in renegotiating the contract before the release date of ‘Black Widow’, so Johansson had to resort to legal means to be heard.
