Drew Street shooting leaves one dead, one injured during party altercation in East New York”

Drew Street's latest victim: party argument escalates to lethal gunfire, highlighting the Brooklyn streets' persisting crime problem.

Authorities said that multiple gunshots fatally struck a man, and a woman was wounded after a fight at a party that caused gunfire on a Brooklyn street plagued by violent crime.

The shooting occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Drew St. near Loring Avenue in East New York, just yards from where two men were fatally shot in July last year.

In Saturday’s incident, 33-year-old Delvin Diaz was critically wounded after being shot several times, while a 31-year-old woman was grazed in the shoulder by bullets.

Officials said the shooting was caused after an altercation broke out during a party at Diaz’s building on Drew St.

Paramedics transported the victims to Brookdale University Hospital, where Diaz was pronounced dead, the Daily News reported.
