The Colombian Egan bernal (Ineos) lost time again with respect to their direct rivals in the tenth stage of the Back to Spain, ending in Rincón de la Victoria.
The winner of the Tour 2019 and the Giro 2021 tried to respond to Roglic’s attack on the climb to La Almachara, but the one from Zipaquirá burst and lost 37 seconds.
“Putting the time I lost aside, I felt good on the climb and had good legs, until I stayed. Going out to attack Roglic was a bit of a runner’s impulse, I felt good and I came out behind him, that’s cycling: attacking and then bursting ”, he explained at the finish line.
Ineos did not have their best day, as his teammate Adam Yates entered with Bernal, who missed the finish line at the same time.

“You had to be on the lookout because anything could happen. The race could go smoothly with the escape or go crazy, you have to be prepared for everything. The idea that Narváez and Van Baarle got into the break was that they try to win the stage, which is another objective of the team, ”he said.
Bernal said he did not feel affected by the heat, but he hopes with hope the decisive stages in Asturias, where the weather can have an influence.
“The heat does not feel so bad for me, I hope to defend myself well in Asturias too, although then the cold makes me feel worse. You have to go day by day, ”he said.
