“This is not political,” says Lili Estefan in El Gordo y la Flaca. Yesterday the following news was released: United States Supreme Court annuls protection of the right to abortion under “Roe versus Wade”. Many people have reacted to this fact. Some have celebrated, others speak of a setback, since this right was in force in this country since 1973 under the “Roe versus Wade” decision. Lili Estefan from El Gordo y la Flaca does not support the decision.

El Gordo y la Flaca is an entertainment program, but like many other celebrities, its hosts also decided to step forward and give their opinion. Raúl de Molina was clear in his words, asserting that if the woman needs to have an abortion, the woman is the only one who should have the power to decide on her body. Lili Estefan joined this message saying: “This is not political.”

The young American singer, Taylor Swift, also shared her opinion, saying: “I am absolutely terrified that this is where we are, that after so many decades of people fight for women’s rights to their own bodies, today’s decision has stripped us of that“.

Programs such as “La Mesa Caliente” from Telemundo also addressed the issue and that was where Myrka Dellanos sparked the debate, because she is in favor of the sentence issued, while her companions Verónica Bastos and Giselle Blondet do not share her thoughts, much less your argument. For Verónica and Giselle, the decision must be made by the woman and they see this failure as a setback.
