Federico Gutiérrez, a promising Mexican driver, died at 17 after being involved in a traffic accident this Sunday on the Toluca-Valle de Bravo toll road, where he collided with a pickup truck in which two people were traveling.
The accident was documented around 8:00 p.m. at kilometer 45, in the area known as Villa Seca in the municipality of Villa Victoria.

As the Truck Mexico Series driver driving a Porsche was known, Fico was accompanied by his brother Max Gutierrez when they collided with a Ford Explorer.

According to information consulted with emergency elements, apparently, one of the operators invaded an oncoming lane, and as a consequence, the collision occurred.
According to reports, the young athlete died at the scene, while his brother was taken by helicopter to a private hospital.
In the other car involved in the accident were two people, an 80-year-old man, and his 65-year-old wife; one was also taken to a car to a hospital.
Also in the incident was a 41-year-old woman who was pinned but was later rescued and taken to the General Hospital of Valle de Bravo.

Max shared some stories on Instagram to thank the messages of support after the unfortunate death of Federico Gutiérrez, and he also mentioned where his brother would be veiled.
“Thank you all very much for your messages, support, and understanding in these difficult times. At 5:00 pm, a mass will be held at J. García López Casa Pedregal to say goodbye to Fico.”
Who was Federico Gutierrez, the Mexican driver?
At only 17 years old, Fico managed to coin a promising and extensive career that goes from his first participation between 2010 and 2018 in various karting championships in Mexico and Spain, according to what his profile in Escudería Telmex reveals.
Who also had soccer, basketball, handball, and karate as hobbies, won at the age of 13 two races in the Copa Notiauto circuit. In 2019 he was a teammate of his brother Max Gutierrez in the 24 Hours of Mexico and became the youngest driver to do so.
In 2020, he debuted in NASCAR Mexico in Mikel’s Trucks, being a pole position the highlight of the season in which he finished in fifth position; in Puebla, he achieved his best performance by climbing the podium in second position.
