Fluminense vs. Flamengo post-match shooting: deadly argument in Rio bar leaves one dead, another wounded in Tijuca

The author of the shots was arrested and, according to the police, claimed that he reacted that way after being assaulted with a bottle.

A Fluminense fan died, and another was injured after an argument in a bar in Rio de Janeiro after the final game of the Carioca championship, played against Flamengo.

The police version indicates that during the argument, a subject took a gun, killed a 40-year-old man, and wounded another one with three shots.

The latter is in “serious health” in a local hospital, as indicated by the doctors attending him.

The incident occurred in a bar in Tijuca, located in northern Rio de Janeiro, frequented by Fluminense fans.

Police did not clarify if there were Flamengo fans at the scene, which are listed as Fluminense’s worst rivals.

The two clubs had met hours earlier in the first leg of the Brazilian Championship final, in which Flamengo won 2-0.

The perpetrator of the shooting was arrested and, according to the police, claimed that he reacted in this way after being attacked with a bottle.
