Gabriela Gisela Fernández Amezola, more popularly known as Gabysela, stands as a figure of intrigue in the world of the Sinaloa Cartel. The wife of Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, one of the most sought-after criminals in the United States, Gabysela’s lineage and life choices have made her a subject of fascination and speculation.
A Notable Lineage
Born to Manuel Fernández Valencia, alias ‘La Puerca,’ Gabysela hails from a family deeply entrenched in the narcotics trade. ‘La Puerca,’ a known associate of ‘Chapo’ Guzmán, had a reputation for trafficking marijuana into the US. His arrest in 2010 by federal authorities in Culiacán, a hub for the Sinaloa Cartel, alongside seven other individuals found with firearms, marked a significant moment in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking.
Tragedy struck the Fernández Amezola family that same year when Gabysela’s brother, Marcial Fernández Amezola, was mistakenly identified as one of ‘Chapo’s’ sons and was subsequently killed by alleged hitmen of the Beltrán Leyva organization, as detailed by author Anabel Hernández.
Stepping into the Limelight
While Gabysela’s marriage to Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, also known as ‘El Nini,’ has been shrouded in mystery, it’s believed that the couple shares a son. Pérez Salas, identified as the head of security for Los Chapitos, a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel led by Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán’s sons, has been linked to a series of violent acts, making his relationship with Gabysela all the more intriguing.

Despite her familial ties and relationship with ‘El Nini’, there’s no concrete evidence tying Gabysela directly to criminal activities. On the contrary, her digital presence, especially on platforms like TikTok, paints a different portrait. Gabysela frequently appears in clips, donning luxury brands and showcasing an opulent lifestyle, leading many to dub her one of the “princesses” of the Sinaloa Cartel.

In the Public Eye
Anabel Hernández, in her recent book Las señoras del narco: Amar en el infierno, sheds light on Gabysela’s life, detailing her parents’ identities and her connection to the narcotics world. While her father’s criminal activities and eventual 27-year prison sentence in the US in 2016 are well-documented, Gabysela’s personal life remains more enigmatic.
While Gabysela’s husband remains a prime target for US authorities, with the DEA offering a reward for information leading to his capture, she continues to capture the public’s imagination, balancing her life amidst the shadows of the Sinaloa Cartel.
