Funko Pop, a renowned brand of collectible dolls, has revealed its latest additions to the collector’s shelf: figures of Checo Perez and Max Verstappen. Despite the underwhelming performance of Perez on the track in 2023, the Mexican public regards these items as invaluable. Particularly among Formula 1 enthusiasts, Perez continues to be perceived as the only challenger who could possibly triumph over Verstappen.
Both Max Verstappen and Checo Perez will have their own Funko figure, with presales already kicking off to a great start. The presale is currently hosted by Distrito Max, which is touting the figures as exclusive to their store. Two distinct figures are available: Sergio Perez With Helmet and Formula 1 Red Bull – Checo Perez. The first figure presents Perez without his helmet, holding it in his right hand, while the second features his iconic number 11 cap.

Although Funko collectors have had access to other sports figures, this marks the first time that members of the Red Bull Formula 1 team have been featured. The pair, known for their red and navy blue team colors, have been transformed from t-shirts and caps into figures for collectors. These particular Funko dolls have progressively become a must-have for collectors, inspiring even the newest generations to preserve the old tradition of keeping the toy in its box indefinitely.
The product description on the Distrito Max website reads as follows: “Get ready for Formula 1 speed together with Funko and this new Distrito Max Exclusive Pop Racing inspired by Mexican driver Sergio Checo Perez! Sergio Perez is looking to take the top spot in your collection with this Distrito Max Exclusive Funko Pop. Add speed to your collection and make it grow with a touch of adrenaline and legendary high-speed drivers, and get the Red Bull driver! This Funko Pop is a must-have for every Formula 1 fan!”

The figures, which are 9.5 cm tall and made of vinyl, are packaged in a box with a window for display. The two versions of the Checo Perez Funko figure are priced differently: Sergio Perez With Helmet costs 319 pesos, while the Formula 1 Red Bull – Checo Perez version costs 299 pesos. Distrito Max has stated that the product will be delivered between October and November 2023.

Max Verstappen, the 2013 World Karting Championship champion, will also be seeking a spot on collectors’ shelves. His Funko figure will be released for sale on the same date, and its presale price is set at 299 pesos. With these figures, Funko continues its tradition of creating collections inspired by notable personalities from the entertainment industry, top-charting singers, and characters from acclaimed fiction films.
