The importance of the Caballero de la Salsa within the Latin music industry is undeniable, so that on November 17, he will be awarded the Award for Musical Excellence from the Latin Recording Academy, this in the framework of the ceremony of the 21st edition of the Latin Grammy.

The 59-year-old Puerto Rican has more than 30 albums published and in recent years, with everything and the arrival of digital platforms, has managed to launch a live recorded album entitled “40 … and counting” (2019) that reached the second place in the Tropical Albums sales chart in the United States and the first place in sales in Puerto Rico. A year earlier, in 2018, he had released “In good company”.

In addition to the award that will be awarded soon, Santa Rosa is preparing for a tour of several cities in the United States, this will take place in 2021 and 2022. Its name is “Caminalo Tour”.

At the moment, and as long as Gilberto Santa Rosa’s music continues to play, salsa continues to live.
