The World Cup in Qatar 2022 opens this Monday the period of presentation of applications to recruit 20,000 volunteers, who will work in 45 functional areas such as stadiums, training grounds, fan zones, airport, hotels and public transport stations.
The applicants, who may apply through volunteer.fifa.com, must be 18 years of age completed on October 1 of this year and speak English. For the selection, Arabic will also be valued, although it is not an essential requirement.
As reported by FIFA, no experience is required and applications will be received from candidates of all conditions and from anywhere in the world.
The World Cup will be held from November 21 to December 18, although some volunteer positions will start from October 1.
The start of Qatar’s volunteer program will be marked by an event tonight at Doha’s Katara Amphitheatre, where football greats and guests will encourage the public to sign up.
Selected volunteers will get a limited edition Adidas uniform and they will also be given meals and public transportation during their shifts, FIFA said.
