In an interview with the media outlet INFO7, Juan David Cuéllar indicated that after Debanhi Escobar’s father revealed that his daughter was groped inside the taxi, he decided to give his version of what happened the day of the disappearance of the young woman.
”I did not (touch it) at any time. I always tried to help her, but this (sic) girl, well, she was walking (sic) she wasn’t in her five senses, I can say that, she wasn’t in her five senses, because she didn’t string words, she didn’t string sentences, she didn’t have a concise talk.
The driver stated that received a message via WhatsApp from Escobar’s friends to pick them up around 4 a.m. on April 9, when Cuéllar got to his car, only Debanhi got in and her friends left in another car.
“It goes down and that’s where I took the picture, she told her friends that she got off and even with a co-worker he also told her that this is happening to me… I spent about three minutes standing there to see if she would come back, if she repents, I don’t know, she never turned around and what I did was continue”, narrated.
Also, he pointed out that He decided to show his face because all he wanted was to help her at all times: ”I came to give my version because they judge without knowing me and I was the one who was there. From the first moment I wanted to help her. She told him to tag her parents, but she didn’t want to”.
