Kyrie Irving’s novel has come to an endat least for now, after so many speculations that linked him to the Lakers, the point guard has decided to stay with the Brooklyn Nets for one more year and the sum of 37 million dollars.

The news was confirmed by his stepmother and agent Shetellia Riley Irving in statements to ‘The New York Times’ reviewed by MARCA.

The controversial basketball player has been the subject of information related to the possible destination he would like to join if he left the Nets, something that ultimately did not happen, since he decided to remain with the Brooklyn quintet to seek the championship next season, a decision in which the contract surely helped a lot.

Kyrie Irving, a different and controversial player

Kyrie Irving is clear that he is a quality player and so he made it known in statements to The Athletics, when informing his decision to continue with the Nets. “Normal people keep the world going, but those who dare to be different guide us into tomorrow. I made the decision to continue. See you in the fall.”

Until 2023, the Nets will now have to renegotiate the contract with Kyrie Irving or failing that, transfer it to another franchise, something that does not seem like an option considering the significant amount.

Kyrie Irving numbers

Kyrie Irving only played 29 games last NBA season with the Brooklyn Nets, a fact that occurred due to his refusal to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Despite the few games, Irving averaged 27.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists, not insignificant numbers for the 30-year-old point guard.
