High temperatures in California caused the suspension, on two occasions, of a school graduation at UC Davis, for which the institution will compensate the students who were left with the desire to have their ceremony as is commonly done.

Through a statement, the university president, Gary S. May, reported on the refund that will be given to students.

We offer a $58 royalty rebate, which covers the cap, gown, and tasselto the graduates who could not be recognized on Friday and Saturday,” he says.

Likewise, May offered an apology to the student community and those attending the event for the inconvenience, which has generated annoyance and frustration: “I apologize for the pain, anger and frustration that many of you have experienced and expressed.”

The principal added that They did everything in their power to alleviate the problems. due to the increase in temperatures, but it was not enough and the ceremony had to be suspended.

“The health and safety of the campus is always our top priority”May said.

UCD Davis did everything possible to hold such an important event for its students, since the ceremony was held last Friday morning, although due to the high temperatures, which were around 100 degrees, there were 36 reports for heat medical assistance.

Of the total reports, seven people arrived at the hospital due to the damage, which led the authorities to request that it be suspended.

The ceremony was rescheduled for Saturday morning.however, the heat did its thing again and the event was suspended again.

Although on Sunday it was tried again with the rest of the graduates, once again it could not come to an end, because the heat gave no respite to the students and their families.
