Hispanic accused of sexual abuse and child pornography in his daycare in New York

Silfredo Castillo Martínez, owner of a nursery in the Bronx (NYC), was accused of multiple charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a child in his care and possess a collection of child pornography, prosecutors said Monday.

The New York Police and the US Secret Service Martinez’s day care center, Lina’s Garden Day Care, located on Decatur Street in Williamsbridge, was raided in May and 30 devices were seized, according to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office.

The investigation found that Castillo Martínez, 32, allegedly downloaded 12 files of child pornography in your Google Drive accountincluding images and videos of children between the ages of seven and 12, as well as a one-year-old baby, the prosecution said.

As the investigation progressed, authorities found a photo and video of a child made inside the daycare, which prosecutors say is the same child who was sexually abused by Martinez.

NYPD computer crime investigators suspect that Castillo Martinez trafficked in child pornography since July 2011. “The defendant, a daycare center owner, was supposed to keep the children safe; instead, he allegedly sexually assaulted a child in his care,” District Attorney Darcel Clark said in a statement. “The actions [de Martínez] they are despicable and disgusting, and he cannot be taking care of children in our community.”

Martinez was arraigned Monday on a series of charges, including predatory sexual assault on a child, first-degree criminal sexual act and 12 counts of possession of a sexual performance by a minor. He is due back in court on September 20, reported New York Post.
