Portugal.- A cargo ship that carried almost 4 thousand cars inside caught fire over the Atlantic Ocean, among its cargo were luxury cars from the Porsche, Audi and Lamborghini brands of the Volkswagen Group, as well as 189 Bentleys.
It was the ship identified as Felicity Ace with a length of 200 meters that suffered the incident, it had departed on February 10 from Emden, Germany, and was scheduled to arrive in Davisville, Rhode Island in the United States; However, her journey ended with a fire near the Azores Islands, belonging to Portugal.
The ship’s crew mentioned that the fire started last Wednesday, February 16, after an explosion in the cargo hold and that it did not take long to spread throughout the ship, so the 32 people who worked abandoned the shipping company to later be safeguarded by the Portuguese Navy together with the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center of Ponta Delgada.
