On Saturday, September 23, 2023, around 7:00 a.m., a fatal car accident occurred in Zapopan, Jalisco, claiming the life of regional Mexican singer Javier Emilio Barbosa Sánchez, known by his stage name “El Guero.”
According to eyewitness reports, El Guero was driving a black luxury Cadillac SUV at high speed along Avenida López Mateos when he lost control and crashed into two concrete posts on the central median, directly in front of a Zapopan Traffic Police station.
El Guero’s injuries have proven fatal
The violent impact essentially destroyed the front of the vehicle. El Guero suffered grave injuries, including traumatic brain injury and the amputation of one of his legs at the scene. He was rushed to Las Águilas Green Cross Hospital along with three injured female passengers, but doctors were sadly unable to save the 60-year-old singer’s life. He passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.
