Jhonny Caz, from Grupo Firme, will be crowned “King of CDMX LGBT Gay Pride”

Mexico. — Jhonny Caz from Grupo Firme, will be crowned “King of Gay Pride LGBT of CDMX”, as it is reported on several news portals, and will be part of a parade that will take place in the country’s capital.

Jhonny Caz, vocalist of Grupo Firme, is the name of the first public figure who will take part in said event and will also be crowned at a later date. In addition, they will soon reveal other names of participants at the march.

Jhonny, along with his brother Eduin Caz and Grupo Firme, have managed to stand out in music with their songs like Ya supérame, a composition by Horacio Palencia from Sinaloa, although at the beginning of their career they were criticized because they recorded pure covers and not their own songs.

Grupo Firme are currently performing ‘sold-out’ concerts in the Mexican Republic and several cities in the USA. They enjoy a great polularity, they are admired and have thousands of followers on social networks.

The aforementioned event will take place in Zócalo, CDMX, and they are expecting the attendance of thousands of people from all around the Aztec country, also including visitors from others in the Mexican Republic. Usually, the Pride Parade takes place every June, and offers the oportunity for several other related events to be hold with the help of the LGBTQ community.

According to information in several news portals, the expected and incredible Pride Parade has caused countless controversy throughout time. On the internet it is highlighted, for example, that during the 1959 organization, the local mayor Ernesto Uruchurtu closed all the gay bars of CDMX, with the intention of “cleaning up” the city and banning any LGBTQ promotion.

But the local LGBTQ movement ended up gaining supporters and in 1979 the first CDMX Gay Pride was held. The parade begins at Ángel de la Independencia, in Zona Rosa, and runs through several streets of the city before reaching the emblematic Zócalo.
