Through his YouTube channel, where he has more than 135 thousand subscribers, Juan recounts the moment when they went for Jenni, at the special request of his mother, Mrs. Rosa Rivera, to the place of her accident in the state of Nuevo León, in Mexico.
“This is how we found my sister Jenni”: Juan Rivera
Before going fully into his story, the music producer recalled that his nephews (Jenni Rivera‘s children) were the ones who asked him to go to the scene of the accident, since they did not trust their uncles Lupillo and Gustavo Rivera.
“I think we left on a Monday night. Jenni sang on Saturday in Monterrey, Sunday was the accident. Lupe had to come back from the Carolinas and then we left on Monday night, obviously the whole family couldn’t go because of everything that was happening, “she recalled.
Then, and visibly affected, Juan Rivera commented that there was great despair in the whole family: “I remember that my mother came out and told us: ‘Children, you are strong, bring me my girl, please’, that went to the pure entrance to the house ”.
“I told him that we were coming back in three days with Jenni and not to hurry, where did I get the three days? I do not know. Gustavo, Lupe and I left the house at night to the Los Angeles airport. I remember that we arrived in Monterrey in the morning and the first thing we did was go to a delegation or to forensic doctors, I don’t remember ”.
“They told us how the accident had been”: Juan Rivera
Immediately, the music producer recalled that the people they spoke with were not forensic doctors, but rather they were the ones who told them what the accident had been like in which his sister, the singer Jenni Rivera, had lost her life.
“They explained to us more or less what they thought had happened. That day, all the people wanted to help us, but the truth was we were very lost, at least I, I don’t know how my carnal Gustavo would feel and how Lupe would feel, but I was lost ”, revealed Juan Rivera.
“I was hoping Jenni was alive”
After sharing the plans that had been made to go to the place where Jenni Rivera unfortunately died, Juan confessed that he hoped his sister was alive: “I was not going for my sister’s body,” he said.
“Knowing Jenni’s bravery, I imagined that she could have jumped off the plane and said she couldn’t be suffering and had to go get her.” Unfortunately, the rescue team told the Rivera brothers that it was impossible for anyone to have been saved from that accident.
“You have to carry a cross”: Juan Rivera
After accepting the painful reality, Juan Rivera told his brother Lupillo that he had to take a cross to Jenni, to which El Toro de Corrido replied that he had to send him to make one of iron: “No, bro ‘, Jenni is a sister ours and no one should make the cross for him, that is our job, like his brothers ”.
“Perhaps Lupe’s idea would have been better in that the cross would have lasted longer, if it had been made of iron, but the right thing was not done to me and we went to a place at night, but we chose wood, we put some thick screws and We ordered her butterfly to be placed on her cross and my sister’s name ”.
Lupillo Rivera did not want to return to the scene of the accident
And when no one had expected it, Juan Rivera confessed that his brother Lupillo is “half scared” and did not want to return to the scene of the accident where Jenni lost her life, perhaps for fear of getting on the helicopter or because of what they might find.
“Lupe was injured in the knee, I remember, and the net that it was good that it was not because Lupe had not arrived, the descent was in a canyon, it was like 45 minutes down and half an hour up, or vice versa,” revealed the producer musical.
Lupillo dedicated a musical theme to Jenni Rivera
Juan also commented that they went to leave his brother Lupillo to a recording studio, where he recorded the song I will miss you, dedicated to Jenni, but El Toro del Corrido asked him if what he was doing was okay, to which the music producer He replied that only he knew what was in his heart.
“I remember that we were (in the helicopter) all quiet and at one point I thought we were going to crash, it was very cloudy, and it had been said that the weather could have been part of why Jenni had died or why the plane had crashed” .
A day difficult to forget for Juan Rivera
About to finish with his story, Juan Rivera recalled that the rescue chief pointed out the place where the plane in which his sister Jenni was traveling had crashed, and after the strong impact, “it thundered like an accordion.” Shocking
“There were pieces of the plane like 300 meters away. The helicopter landed in a high part and we went down and there were many blue pieces, they looked like plastic, and I asked what that was and they told me that the fuel of the plane was transported there and that was what thundered ”.
“I found a jacket”: Juan Rivera
Calm down, Juan Rivera commented that at the scene of the accident he found a jacket, men’s pants and a box of eyelashes like the ones his sister Jenni used: “I left everything there out of respect for all those who left that day” .
“I told the rescue chief to take me to the place where the plane had crashed and something happened that I had not seen, but there at the point was a floating leaf, it was not moving, it was a single page of Jenni’s Bible , a single page. My mom has that page ”.
Finally, the music producer is aware that this is something difficult to believe, but that both his brother Gustavo and Lupillo Rivera‘s assistant recorded that moment: “In life, you never think what you are going to do or that one day you will to be burying their loved ones “.
“In my life I never thought that we were going to make a cross for Jenni and that we were going to put it on ourselves. I think we didn’t even have a shovel, we dug it up with our hands ”, concluded Juan Rivera (TO SEE THE VIDEO CLICK HERE).
