KFC is donating $500,000 in funds to nonprofits fighting hunger through a TikTok grant program.

Kentucky Fried Chicken announced that together with the creator of TikTok, Isaiah Garza, they will launch the #KentuckyFriedGivingChallenge, a grant fund that will award $500,000 in cash to nonprofit organizations fighting hunger in communities across the United States.
Through a statement, KFC said that it was inspired by philanthropic creators such as Isaiah, known for spreading positivity and changing lives through acts of kindness on TikTokto create the grant program.
“TikTok has become an influential platform for creators who are passionate about philanthropy. That passion is precisely what inspired us to create the #KentuckyFriedGivingChallenge, the first grant program on TikTok benefiting nonprofitssaid Nick Chavez, director of marketing for KFC USA.
To participate and win up to $100,000 in grants, creators affiliated with a non-profit organization must submit, between February 23 and March 4, a video of up to 30 seconds in length showing how your organization helps your local community.
KFC to award $40,000 to 11 nonprofit organizations. Then, between April 8-14, fans will have the opportunity to cast their vote for one of 11 finalist videos where the grand prize-winning nonprofit will receive an additional $60,000.
“As a creator with a cause, I know what it’s like to be homeless and hungry,” said Isaiah Garza. “I am excited to partner with KFC for the #KentuckyFriedGivingChallenge on a mission to inspire other TikTok creators to do amazing work. to help fight hunger and homelessness within their own communities.”
Detailed instructions for entering are available at kfc.com/KentuckyFriedGiving, the deadline to enter is March 4, 2022.
