A new edition of the Clásico del Tráfico will take place this Saturday, April 9 at the Dignity Health Sports Park Stadium in an important duel that is part of the sixth day of the MLS. This match will have special Mexican flavor as it will face Chicharito and Carlos Vela.
Soccer in the United States will dress up for an electrifying matchup between two of the Western Conference’s cheerleading teams. LAFC lead the standings with 13 unitsproduct of 4 wins and a draw; LA Galaxy follows very closely with 9 points thanks to 3 wins and 2 losses.
This duel will face to face two of the teams with the best performance in this start of the American tournament. Both teams come from disappointing last season so they will seek in this 2022 to get into the Play-Offs at all costs.
Special duel for Mexicans in Los Angeles
Undoubtedly this first Traffic Classic of 2022 brings a very special ingredient: this will be the first time that Javier Hernández and Carlos Vela will face each other in the MLS. The last time the two strikers saw each other was in a duel between Real Sociedad and Manchester United in 2013.
Both Mexican strikers arrive on equal terms. Chicharito and the “Bombardier” have scored four goals each this season. However, Vela adds one more line to his records: assists. Since the former Real Sociedad arrived in the MLS he has been able to score 61 goals and distributed 37 goal passes.
Without a doubt, this attacking duel will be the main course of the match. Chicharito has already expressed his intentions and said that he appreciates Carlos Vela, but as soon as the referee starts the match, he will not meet his compatriot and former teammate on the Mexican team.
