Lay’s launched a unique vodka that is distilled from their proprietary potatoes which sold out just hours after being for sale online.
The idea of a potato vodka is not far-fetched, as it is a drink that can be distilled from various ingredients, including potatoes. Lay’s Vodka was created in association with Eastside Distilling, based in Portland.
Lay’s Vodka is made from a blend of Portland Potato Vodka and vodka distilled from Lay’s proprietary potatoes. Lay’s French Fries are made with a variety of potatoes developed in-house by Frito-Lay’s food scientists. They are drier and more granulated potatoes than Russet, Yukon Golds and Red potatoes than those usually found on the market.
Lay’s Crunchy Vodka is not spiced for a potato chip flavor, it has been kept simple, a straight 80 proof vodka with a “crisp, clean finish”.
“For decades, Lay’s has created joy through iconic chips and delicious flavors,” stated the company. This release comes just in time for the holidays so fans 21 and over can experience Lay’s in a new way.
The limited-edition 750-milliliter bottle of Lay’s Vodka launched this December 16 in an exclusive online sale on the distillery’s website. with a batch of just 1300 bottles at a cost of $ 40, which did not take long to run out.
Eastside Distilling has been producing high-quality, award-winning artisanal spirits in Portland, Oregon since 2008.
