LeBron James bought a $9 million luxury apartment far from Los Angeles even though he just renewed his contract

basketball star LeBron James bought a luxury beachfront apartment in Sunny Isles north of Miami for $9 (Florida), an area where Argentine soccer player Lionel Messi also has an apartment, the specialized real estate media reported on Wednesday. RealClear.

The apartment chosen by the star player of the Lakers, who previously played for the Miami Heat, is on the 43rd floor of the south tower of the recently completed luxury complex Estates at Acqualina, in Sunny Isles Beach.

Property records reveal that a company managed by James and linked to the Akron, Ohio-based LeBron James Family Foundation was the purchaser of the apartment. The 49-story, 154-unit south tower was completed this summer and the condo’s north tower is under construction.

Last year, according to RealClearJames sold one of his Brentwood, Los Angeles, homes for $19.6 million. The move sparked rumors that he was finally leaving the Lakers franchise, however, this year he re-signed for two seasons.

Nicknamed “Little Moscow” for its concentration of Russian residents, Sunny Isles Beach has attracted other professional athletes and celebrities over the years.

Two years ago, Leo Messia former FC Barcelona figure and current Paris Saint Germain player, bought a unit in Porsche Design Tower from Dezer Development and a year later his family bought a condo in Regalia on the northern edge of Sunny Isles Beach, the publication says.

James, considered one of the best basketball players of all time, formed the “Big Three” of the Miami Heat between 2010 and 2014, along with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
