On Monday morning, April 10, Maribel Guardia issued a statement confirming the unfortunate death of her only son Julián Figueroa. In the text, the actress and singer revealed how her son died and offered details about the funeral rites, which will be carried out privately. The 63-year-old singer also asked for respect in this unfortunate moment she is going through.
“Dear friends: I am sorry to have to communicate the departure of my beloved son Julián Figueroa, who unfortunately passed away. He was found unconscious tonight in his room while I was at the theater. They called 911, and when the ambulance and police arrived, they found him lifeless, without any trace of violence. The medical report indicates that he died of acute myocardial infarction and ventricular fibrillation,” Maribel Guardia stated.
“I ask for understanding for the deep pain we are going through, I would like to talk to all the people trying to communicate, but I don’t have the strength to do it yet. I beg, respectfully, everyone, for our privacy and the painful moment we are going through. His funeral honors will be held privately, next to the people closest to him and who loved him the most,” continued the singer.
“I thank all the messages of support and love that you have been sending me, but now I don’t have the soul to answer anyone; I hope to be able to do it another time. Thank you all for your understanding,” she ended her text, accompanied by a photograph of Julián Figueroa, who was just about to turn 28.

Julián Figueroa, born on May 2, 1995, was the product of the mediatic relationship between Maribel Guardia and Joan Sebastián, who separated in 1996.
