After these controversial statements, Salma Luévano, a trans deputy from Morena, shaved her head in an act of public protest against the former presidential candidate of Nueva Alianza.

After Quadri’s participation in a CNN interview from which he was expelled went viral, the leader of the National Regeneration Movement through his official twitter accountr was pronounced.
“Deputy Gabriel Quadri must be disgraced and removed for his hate speech and discrimination, in this Mexico we cannot tolerate that such an unpresentable person is a popular representative,” he wrote.
The context is as follows: last Wednesday Gabriel was invited together with the deputy Salma Luévano to the broadcast of the program that Egaña hosts to discuss the attacks against transsexuals in Mexico.
However, the discussion escalated when Luévano accused Quadri of promoting hate speech, “I am not going to allow a legislator to use his power to attack us in this way, I do not understand how there are people like him who incite hate, and he knows perfectly well that his speeches are killing us,” said the deputy.
Who is Gabriel Quadri?
Gabriel Quadri de la Torre is a Mexican liberal environmental politician and researcher who has served as a public official and activist in the private sector.
He was a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic in 2012 for the New Alliance party and is currently a federal deputy for National Action.
However, today’s deputy has already reiterated his intentions to compete to seek the Presidency of Mexico again in 2024.
