The 27-year-old Manchester City and France international defender has been charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
MENDY’S DEFENSE TEAM HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REMOVE HIM FROM JAIL
He has been in preventive detention since his first appearance before the magistrates court on August 27.
A request for bail was heard today in front of a judge at Chester Crown Court. This is the third time that Mr. Mendy’s legal team has requested bail.
THE VICTIMS ARE YOUNG GIRLS OVER 16 YEARS OLD

Mendy was not present for the hearing on Monday morning, which lasted about 50 minutes. Members of the press and the public were excluded from the hearing, which was held in theaters.
However, Judge Patrick Thompson refused to grant bail, a court official later confirmed. The charges refer to three alleged victims over 16 years of age.
MENDY IN SERIOUS SITUATION

Three of the rape crimes are alleged to have occurred in October 2020 and one allegedly took place in August this year.
Mr. Mendy is also charged with a sexual assault charge that allegedly took place in January of this year. The five crimes are alleged to have occurred at his home on Withinlee Road in Prestbury, Cheshire.
THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN CASES OF RAPE

Louis Saha Matturie, 40, of Edwin Court, Eccles, who is charged with four counts of rape, is involved in the Mendy case.
The charges concern three complainants over the age of 16 and allegedly took place between April 2021 and August 2021.
