Dr. Hugo López Gatell, Mexican Undersecretary of Health and head of the covid-19 pandemic in the country, confirmed on his Twitter account that Mexico has detected in its territory the first case of the Omicron variant in the country.
In his morning conference, before the confirmation, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador had advanced that the first possible case of omicron in the country was under analysis.
He said that he was a traveler from South Africa, who had decided to enter voluntarily.
