In a revelation that has left many astounded, Dámaso López Serrano, also known as ‘Mini Lic,’ has confirmed the rumored relationship between Mexican television host Galilea Montijo and Arturo Beltrán Leyva, a former key figure in the Sinaloa Cartel.
This claim adds a new layer of complexity to the narrative previously reported by Anabel Hernández, author of “Las señoras del narco: amar al infierno,” which had initially brought the supposed romance to public attention.
Recently, Mini Lic offered insights into the alleged involvement of Peso Pluma with El Nini, a famous member of the Sinaloa Cartel, which, given the rivalry between Sinaloa Cartel and CJNG, could explain the death threats the narcocorridos artist received from the latter.
Collaboration with U.S. Authorities
‘Mini Lic,’ who is presently serving as a cooperating witness for the U.S. government, had been a member of the Sinaloa Cartel for a decade. He revealed not only the existence of the affair but also shared that documents confirming the relationship had been in the possession of himself, his father, and Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
According to these documents, Montijo and Beltrán Leyva often met in Cuernavaca and Acapulco.
“El Chapo” Guzmán’s Unsuccessful Bribe Attempt
Most shockingly, ‘Mini Lic’ divulged that “El Chapo” Guzmán had considered offering a $500,000 bribe to Montijo in a bid to betray Beltrán Leyva. The plan, however, never materialized as they believed Montijo would not turn against Beltrán Leyva.
“He said ‘he won’t do it, Galilea won’t do it for 500 thousand dollars, maybe if he threatens her, maybe he will, but not for 500 thousand dollars,'” was how the conversation around the foiled bribe attempt was recounted.
Unanswered Questions About Money and Relationships
While ‘Mini Lic’ stated that he never witnessed Montijo receiving any money, there were reports from other witnesses that the television hostess was frequently seen carrying bags of cash. Additionally, he disclosed that Montijo seemed to have cordial relations with everyone involved, including armed cartel members.
Before Stardom: Galilea Montijo’s Early Years
Before rising to fame as one of Televisa’s most adored hosts, Galilea Montijo had her beginnings in the beauty pageant circuit, setting the stage for her successful television career. Now 50 years old, Montijo is currently in a relationship with model Isaac Moreno following her divorce from Fernando Reina.
While Galilea Montijo has denied these allegations, the new information from ‘Mini Lic’ has added substantial weight to Anabel Hernández’s initial revelations. It remains to be seen how these allegations will unfold in the face of persistent denials by Montijo.
