Mourning in football: world champion with Estudiantes and Maradona’s Argentina died

The ex-footballer Raúl Madero, world champion with Estudiantes de La Plata in 1968 and member of the coaching staff winner of the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, died at the age of 82, the Argentine club reported this Friday.

“With pain we fired a world champion. Respected, admired and a reference Goodbye, Raúl Madero! Our sincere respects to your family and loved ones in this painful moment ”, published Estudiantes de La Plata on social networks, following the death that occurred on Thursday.

Madero was one of the doctors who made up the technical body of the Argentine national team than in 1986, with Diego Maradona as figure and Carlos Salvador Bilardo as coach, he won the World Cup in Mexico.

As a footballer, his conquest stands out with Silver students of the Libertadores Cups 1968, 1969 and 1970 and the 1968 Intercontinental Cup, that the Argentine team obtained at beat Manchester United.
